Beckham Looks At Overtown As A Possible Stadium Site

David Beckham has recently been scouting property in Overtown as a potential location for his soccer stadium.

A well-placed source told TNM that Beckham’s group has been looking at property west of the All Aboard Florida tracks. The area is said to be between 11th and 13th Street, and between NW 1st Avenue and NW 2nd Avenue. The source cautioned that he wasn’t certain of Beckham’s plan.

If Beckham wants to build in that area, it would require the demolition of a number of apartment buildings, and would likely require street closures.

Beckham has previously stated his desire to place a stadium in Miami’s urban core. In Overtown, a stadium would be located near transit and in close proximity to several major projects, including Miami Worldcenter and All Aboard Florida’s terminal.

In addition to Overtown, Beckham’s group is also said to be scouting other locations in Dade County.
