EXCLUSIVE: Shops at Downtown Doral confirms more retail, restaurants

Wells Fargo Bank provided $65 million in construction loans for Downtown Doral.

More brands have lined up for the Shops at Downtown Doral, the retail and restaurant component of Codina Partners and Lennar Commercial’s 120-acre Downtown Doral development.

The mixed-use project is expected to open with 70 brands across 180,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space, joined by 2,800 luxury residential units and one million square feet of office space. It will also have public green space, a government center and a charter school.

Newly confirmed retail and restaurant leases:

  • Cattiva Boutique, a high-end clothing retailer.
  • UPS Store, a branch location.
  • Skyro’s, athletic apparel retailer.
  • GBD Fashions, a clothing store.
  • Pisco y Nasca, a ceviche gastrobar

Previously confirmed leases:

  • Bull, a casual Spanish gastrobar.
  • Giardino’s Gourmet Salads, a South Florida-based fast casual concept.
  • Marilyn Monroe Spas, a nail lounge and glamour room.
  • Robeks, a juice and smoothie chain.
  • Las Vegas restaurant, Cuban cuisine.
  • Freddo, a gelato shop.
  • Pasion del Cielo, a coffee shop.

  • OXXO Care Cleaners, a dry cleaning service.
  • Continental Bank, a branch location

“Downtown Doral’s 70 retail spaces are not only drawing interest from the surrounding community, but also from businesses looking to offer employees first-rate office space with walkable restaurants and retail, creating a campus feel,” said Ana Codina-Barlick, CEO of Codina Partners, in a prepared statement to the South Florida Business Journal.

Construction is underway for much of the development. For instance, Stellino’s Italian Trattoria & Bar announced that it broke ground Aug. 21 on its 4,100-square-foot space.

Stellino’s is expected to be completed by November, while the initial construction phase of Downtown Doral is expected to be delivered by December. The first phase encompasses 80,000 square feet with a $25 million development budget.

The entire project will cost more than $1 billion to complete. Downtown Doral is being built on NW 87th Avenue and a few blocks north of Doral Boulevard on NW 53rd Street.
