MainStreet Coconut Creek could get another 225 units, commercial space

A developer wants to add more homes and commercial space to MainStreet section of Coconut Creek.

MainStreet is a mostly vacant section of the city that was rezoned for mixed-use development. So far, the Promenade open-air lifestyle center and the Seminole Casino Coconut Creek have been built there.

Now Elster/Rocatica LLC wants to build 225 mid-rise units and 50,000 square feet of commercial space at 3801 and 3850 Lyons Road. That request will go before the Broward County Commission on Feb. 10.

The LLC paid $2.8 million between 2004 and 2005 to assemble 7.1 acres of property there. The managing members of the LLC are Larry Elster, James Rosemurgy, Alexander Rosemurgy, Kimberly Rosemurgy, Nicholas DeSiato, and Richard M. Stephano.

Meanwhile, Pompano Imports hopes to build the Village of Marbella, with 150 hotel rooms and 764 residential units, on another part of MainStreet, but that project is on hold.
