A mansion under construction on Miami Beach’s wealthy La Gorce Island sold for $19.7 million.

The 10,000-square-foot home along the water at 14 La Gorce Circle has eight bedrooms, nine bathrooms and one half bathroom. It is being built by contractor Bart Reines with the interior decorating by Argent Design. It includes a pool, a media room, a gym, two gazebos, two kitchens and a three-car garage.

Esther Percal, a broker with EWM in Miami Beach who represented the seller, said the home is a month and a half from being completed so it was sold based on the renderings and the reputation of the experienced design team. It was listed in October.

“It was done very elegantly and very well thought out with wonderful finishes,” Percal said. “Usually homes don’t sell in this state, but the house is of such great quality that it’s mind blowing.”

Laura Curson and Claudia Whitechurch, of Coldwell Banker, represented the buyer.

It mansion was sold by 14 La Gorce LLC, a company managed by Simon Groom of Lynmarsh Investments in the British Virgin Islands, to Luis Enrique Alvarez Ortega, a Spanish national. The 20,300-square-foot site sold for $7 million in 2013 before the home was constructed.
