The $70 million NuVista Institute for Healthy Living is set to break ground in Jupiter on Sept. 21.
The developer will hold a groundbreaking ceremony at 3:30 p.m. along Military Trail just north of Donald Ross Road. The 9.4-acre site is on the east side of South Central Boulevard as it curves from the Donald Ross Road entrance to the round-about.
The 225,000-square-foot project will include a 129-bed physical therapy center, 70 assisted living apartments, a 30-unit memory care center for people with brain disorders, 17,000 square feet of medical offices and 5,000 square feet for clinical research.
Palm Beach Gardens-based NuVista is partnering with nonprofit Jupiter Medical Center on the project. The nearby Scripps Research Institute will collaborate as a research partner.
“NIHL will be a cutting edge, short-term and long-term living space for seniors while at the same time offering world-class scientists a pathway to future discoveries that will benefit the world from our own backyard,” said NuVista CEO Paul Walczak.
The land is leased from New York-based American Realty Capital Healthcare Trust, which bought it for $10 million in August.
The Abacoa neighborhood of Jupiter also includes Florida Atlantic University, a Max Plank Society research center, a town center and a baseball spring training complex.
