Chateau Group plans mixed-use project
Argentinian developer Chateau Group filed plans for a mixed-use project at 600 E. Hallandale Beach Blvd. called Chateau Square.
Located on the 8-acre site just east of U.S. 1, the project would have 800 residential units, 280 hotel rooms, 166,352 square feet of commercial/retail space and 164,254 square feet of office space.
The property was acquired by 600 Hallandale LLC, an affiliate of Chateau Group, for $24.5 million in 2007. It currently has a retail building dating back to 1984.
Officials of Chateau Group couldn’t immediately be reached for comment. The company is also co-developing the Ritz-Carlton Residences in Sunny Isles Beach and the Chateau Ocean Residences in Surfside.
Marriott hotel and apartments proposed
Plans for the Nine Hundred building, featuring a Marriott-branded hotel and apartments, will go before the city’s planning board for plan approval on Wednesday.
Hallandale Office Towers, managed by Alan Waserstein of Miami lakes-based LeaseFlorida, wants to build the 23-story tower at 900 S. Federal Highway. It would have 320 rental units, 160 hotel rooms and 5,000 square feet of retail on the first floor. Waserstein confirmed that the hotel would be branded Marriott.
The 1.8-acre site was acquired for $1.5 million in 2001. It currently has a small hotel.
Apartments planned on Dixie Highway
A three-story apartment complex could be built at 501 N. Dixie Highway, on the corner of Foster Road.
The Foster Road Gateway Apartments would have 50 units and 5,418 square feet of commercial/retail space. That would break down to 10 one-bedroom units, 30 two-bedrooms units, and 10 three-bedroom units. The project would cost an estimated $60 million.
The property is currently owned by Dixie Foster LLC, but the application was filed by Architectura Group Miami, managed by Enrico Popescu, so the land is likely under contract to be sold.
