Retail projects proposed in Fort Lauderdale’s Las Olas, Cypress Creek

This 34,429-square-foot retail/office center is planned at 788 E. Las Olas Blvd.

Fort Lauderdale’s Development Review Committee will consider two retail projects at its meeting Tuesday.

The Las Olas Co., a company owned by Michael Weymouth, wants to build a 34,429-square-foot retail/office center on the city’s tony Las Olas Boulevard. The two-acre site is at 600 Sagamore Road, although the developer calls it 788 E. Las Olas Blvd. for its more famous adjacent street.

Designed by Architectural Alliance in Fort Lauderdale, the two-story building would have the retail space out front and the offices in the back. It would also have a roof deck.

Attorney Courtney Crush represents the developer in the application.

Retail and parking for Crown Center

The owner of the Crown Center office park at 1475 W. Cypress Creek Road wants to build retail space and a parking garage.

Fort Lauderdale Crown Center, managed by James E. Goldstein in Boca Raton, has proposed a 25,019-square-foot retail center along Cypress Creek Road with a 204-space, 204,944-square-foot parking garage behind it. Those buildings would be constructed on a parking lot between the existing buildings in the office park.

They were designed by CPZ Architects. Crush is the attorney for this developer as well.
